Equinor had already moved its content repositories to IBM Business Automation Content Services on Cloud. With the contract for its existing SAP connector ending, the company needed a modern, SaaS-based replacement that could preserve the functionality and performance users already relied on.
Equinor needed to replace IBM Content Collector for SAP as the legacy connector contract approached its end.
The new connector also had to support Equinor’s cloud-first strategy by connecting SAP with IBM Business Automation Content Services on Cloud.
The transition had to be effectively invisible to 30,000 serviceable SAP users, with no noticeable change to how they worked.
After the proof of concept was approved, Equinor had only 90 days to complete the transition before the legacy connector contract deadline.
IBM recommended docuflow after changes to its product roadmap. Following a successful proof of concept, VersaFile configured docuflow to match the capabilities Equinor relied on from its legacy connector, including SAP DMS, general attachment archiving, office document archiving, ADK data archiving, custom applications, and compatibility with IBM Content Navigator.
Business-critical attachments remain available to SAP users.

A 45-day proof of concept tested docuflow against the functionality and capabilities of the legacy connector.
